About the event
Rather than causing emotional upheaval, Covid-19 and its ensuing global lockdowns have brought it to the surface. Ironically, the problem is not the stress, anxiety, depression and overwhelm we've been experiencing for a long time now. It's that we've been ignoring, denying, repressing and distracting ourselves without.
It's time for a new normal where we've overcome our fear of self-encounter and started taking responsibility for the quality of our livestyles. And truth be told, most of us won’t muster up the energy to start or sustain a journaling practice on our own.
Journal with Me is a monthly guided-journaling group. Its focus is to create a safe space, externally AND internally, where we can be honest with ourselves.
With the help of 4 journaling prompts, we explore one emotion from various perspectives. Rather than intellectualizing them, we learn to follow the emotions in the body. Once acknowledged, anger, blame, fear and guilt, for example, can be validated, dismantled and then released.
Why Group Journaling?
Imagine the high energy level of a group of like-minded people getting real with the bullshit they've been telling themselves. Even listening to others talk about their process (not the contents of their journal) is cathartic. Add connecting with inner wisdome to guide decision making and we've got a tool we can use for the rest of our lives.
